Hockey

Big E is playing hockey this year. He has wanted to get into hockey for a long time, but it is very expensive. My parents decided they wanted to pay for it. So now he is playing hockey.

He loves it! He had his first game this last weekend and had the best time. He is pretty good. I was very surprised, well a little surprised. That kid is so darn talented at any and all sports. I am so proud of him. I took a bunch of pictures, but have not down loaded them yet so you will have to settle with a picture of him in his gear in the (very dirty) living room.

Got it!

I will have my Easter post in a few days when things settle down a little at work (12 hours days are not fun). Until then I wanted to share a little bit of wonderful that happened to me today.

I came home from another long day at work to find a surprise sitting on the kitchen island for me. My CD holder had arrived! I quickly opened the envelope to find the most wonderful/beautiful gift made just for me. If you are not sure what I am talking about just go here.

I wanted to thank Crystal so much for taking the time to make something just for me. I LOVE it!

Julia project

One of the amazing blogs I read (Little Bit Funky) started her own Julia project. She watched the movie Julie & Julia (the same weekend I did) and decided to do something similar, but with sewing. She has a book One Yard Wonders in which there are 106 projects to make with 1 yard of fabric. She posted that if anyone wanted to help out and send her some yardage she would make them a project and send it back to them.

I was ecstatic! I ran right out and found some of the cutest fabric and mailed it right off. One of the rules was that you could not pick what she was going to make, but you could give her a list of your top 5 wishes or just leave it up to her. I choose to leave it up to her.

When I got up this morning I was checking in on all of my blogs (as I do several times a day - problem?) and she had posted her newest project and it was mine!

check it out here

I love it! I think it is so cute and perfect for my car. I think I may put the kids movies in it. Let me know what you think.

He did it!

Big E finally cut his hair! I am so excited. I haven't really minded the long hair (afro) except that it always looked like a big mess. I know he would brush and style it every day, but within 10 minutes it was fuzzy and messy looking.

Yesterday he finally had enough and had us take him down to get it cut. So here you are the before and after.

It is amazing how he looks like a completely different kid! I am so happy! I am very proud of him for making the decision on his own.

Later last night the whole family went to a hockey game. My Dad went too. We had so much fun.

Our mini vacation

This last weekend we took the kids on a mini vacation to Idaho. There is a cool little place there in Coeur D'Alene called Triple Play. They have go carts, miniature golf, ice skating, laser tag, bowling, putt putt, rock climbing, arcade games and a giant indoor water park.

We left early on Saturday morning on our little vaca. The kids were so excited, so were we. We had breakfast inside McDonald's. They couldn't believe we got to eat inside and not in the car. Normally McDonald's is a "oh my gosh look at how late it is" kind of dinner.

Then we headed out for Idaho. The kids weren't really prepared for the 4 hour car ride. There was a lot of "are we there yet", but the had lots of crafty stuff to do on the ride and Big E just listened to his MP3 player and was texting the whole ride.

Finally we arrived and we were a little early to check in to the hotel. Did I mention there is a hotel attached to the water park? It is pretty awesome! Anyway we decided to check out some of the other stuff before we checked in and went to the water park.

J got to rock climb. She loved it!

Then we took the kids over to the go carts. Little E and J weren't tall enough to drive them alone so Big E drove and they were the passengers.

Finally we could check in and go to the water park.

The kids were in heaven!

They went down water slides.

Ben and I even went down one! (no pictures to share of that)
Then we ordered some pizza and went up to our room to watch a new movie I bought just for this night (Where the Wild Things Are). We ate pizza in bed and watched the movie.

On Sunday we had planned to go back to the water park and then after check out go bowling, but there was a little incident with Ben. Long story short he ended up in the hospital by ambulance. He will be fine, but it was really scary.

Amazing Find

I found the most amazing store the other day. I was window shopping downtown and went into an antiques store. I was wandering around the store not seeing anything that really caught my eye. Then I turned the corner and found this...

I fell in love! I was so inspired by this area that I have decided to finally make my own craft area in my home. AND I have decided to begin to teach myself to sew. I have had a machine for about 2 or 3 years, but do not know how to use it. It has been over at my best friends house for about 2 or 3 years.

Well the time has come for me to really learn how! I will post a picture showing how it has turned out.

Lately...

Our lives have been very busy lately. I know that is nothing new. I wanted to share some of the reasons we have been so busy.

(Warning: tons of pictures to follow)

Little E lost 2 more teeth. He is becoming my very own jack-o-lantern. ☺

We hung out with our friends. Nothing new there. I love these guys! ♥

We had friends over for the Superbowl.

That's it for now, but I will have another post very, very soon. This time I promise!!
