Scary drive

This weekend Big E and I headed over to the other side of the state. We couldn't leave until about 4:30pm when Ben came home from work. That meant that we would be going over the mountain pass at night. I wasn't thrilled about it. This is why...




It was snowing so hard that at times I couldn't even see the car in front of me. We were stopped for a while, but thankfully not too long. We did hear on the radio pass reports that they were shutting down the majority of the pass for avalanche control and that there would be 1 to 2 feet of accumulation by morning! That was a little scary.

This is what it looked like the next afternoon on our way back.



Beautiful, but the pictures do not do it justice. It was slick and still snowing. What you can't see in this picture is the huge mountain because it is covered by snow clouds!

Snow Day 2012

The last couple of days we have had snow days. Yesterday the weather cleared up long enough for us to take the kids sledding. They had such a good time!!

Happy New Year 2012

Once again we rang in the new year with our oldest and dearest friends and all of the kids!











One major bonus this year was that my cousin, Todd, from California could be there to celebrate with us.


Happy new year everyone and here's to hoping 2012 is way better than 2011.

Christmas 2011

Our Christmas was wonderful for everyone, but me. I have been very sick for the last few days and I feel like I missed Christmas this year. It makes me a very sad Mommy. I am fully aware that I have very few precious years with all of the kids here and I don't want to miss a moment. Unfortunately I was in bed almost the whole time. Here are some pictures of when I was awake.





We also spent Christmas Eve at my parents house.

On Sat we went to our little town's lighted Christmas parade. It was freezing, but awesome!

My love affair with the internet

Sorry I have been so absent lately. I have, as always, been as busy as can be. But, I have been on the internet more lately than ever before. I have a new obsession Pintrest. I have spent sooo many hours pinning away.



I found a new potato soup recipe that we are going to try tonight for dinner.



Pearls, Handcuffs, and Happy Hour is a new amazing blog I found because of Pintrest. We are going to be trying a lot of new things from here on out. I love the internet!!
