Another weekend, more wrestling....

This last weekend we were at Little E's wrestling tournament. Again. This time it was in a tiny town way up in the mountains called Cowiche.

This town was so far up that while it was raining it instantly turned to snow! Ben said that we must have climbed 1000 feet in less than 5 minutes. It was a little scary!

We had to be at the high school between 7 and 9 for weigh ins. We arrived at 8. The tournament didn't start until 10. Luckily this tournament actually started on time.

The way these tournaments work is that they start with the lowest age group (5 & 6) and after they have all wrestled then they move on to the next age group. They continue this until everyone has wrestled in 1 match. The ages go all the way up to 13 I think. Then they start all over again with the youngest kids and have them wrestle for a second time. This process is very long and considering the kids only wrestle for 3 minutes at a time it can be hours in between wrestling matches!

I am so proud of my kids though. They were great at keeping themselves entertained. I am so proud to call them my children!

Little E won his first match with a technical because the kid he was supposed to wrestle went home sick.
He lost his second match by a pin.
He had a bye on his consolation round.
In the final round he did lose, but he still took home 2nd place!!!

We are sooo proud of him!!! He is pretty proud of himself!

We finally left at 3:40pm.

It was a long ride home.
